You'll have to grow Callicapra 'Profusion' yourself to believe the incredible colours of its autumn berries.
The Beauty Berry is one plant that definitely deserves its common name. A highly ornamental shrub that is prized for the bead-like clusters of purple berries that appear in autumn and remain well into the winter. Their purple colouring is almost unique among hardy plants. In summer it bears clusters of small pink flowers amid fresh green leaves, which then become a delicious buttery yellow as autumn progresses. Callicarpa are best planted in groups of two or more to ensure a good crop of berries.
Add a dash of unusual and vibrant colour to your garden in from late summer to early winter.

A fuss-free plant that's perfect for a mixed shrub border - it combines well with so many other plants and grows in both sun or light shade.
Beauty Berry loves a fertile, well-drained soil with plenty of organic matter added, so to get the best results from your plants, feed them in spring with a general-purpose fertiliser: gently fork it into the soil around the base of the plant and then give it a mulch of compost, well-rotted manure or bark chippings.
The branches can be cut for flower arrangements in autumn and early winter. Prune in spring if necessary - all you need to do is cut out any branches that are either dead or spoil the shape of the plant.
