With long funnel-like flowers in a pale lilac colour, Crocus kotschyanus will bring a splash of autumn colour to the garden. Once the flowers have bloomed, dark green grass-like leaves appear for the winter. Perfect for naturalising in turf, for growing on banks or slopes, set at the front of borders or displayed in containers. This lovely variety will have your garden buzzing with the sounds of bees and other pollinators going about their business. Crocus kotschyanus has been awarded the Royal Horticultural Society's Garden of Merit award.

Crocus will grow in a wide range of soils provided there is good drainage. They like sunshine but the flowers will last longer in partial shade. Excellent for naturalising (leaving in for flowers year after year). Suitable for rockeries, between shrubs and in any kind of container. Should they become overcrowded after a few years, lift when the foliage has died down, divide and replant. When planting, place wire netting just under the soil surface to prevent mice or squirrels eating the corms.
