Believed by David Austin to be the best rose that they've introduced to date, and also one of the most disease resistant roses, 'Olivia Rose Austin' is a rose of the palest pink. It starts with cupped buds, which slowly open into shallowly cupped Old Rose styled rosettes. It has a strong, fruity fragrance. This variety will repeat flower well so that you have plenty of time to enjoy it.
This delightful rose carries the name of the daughter of David Austin Junior and granddaughter of David Austin Senior.
Olivia Rose Austin' is a shapely, compact shrub. It has shiny foliage which creates a good background for the pale pink flowers. It is a good choice for many different uses in your garden - traditional rose beds, mixed borders with other perennials, as hedging or in an attractive container.
Roses thrive on sunshine, ideally a minimum of four hours each day to perform their best. However, roses can still perform well in shadier locations, with selected varieties suitable for growing against a north wall.
Roses can be planted year round, but avoid doing so when the ground is frozen, waterlogged or in periods of drought. Dusting the roots with Mycorrhizal Fungi when planting will aid establishment. Allow your rose plenty of space to develop to its best, sited away from intense competition of trees & hedges.
Apply a thick layer of mulch around the base of the plant in early spring to help retain moisture and help keep competing weeds at bay. Gently fork rose fertiliser into the soil surface and continue to water well throughout the growing season. Dead-head flowers to encourage fresh new blooms to follow.
