A wonderful repeat flowerer, 'Royal Jubilee' has large, deep dished blooms with petals of a sumptuously rich pink on the inner surface, and a paler pink underside. The petals curve inwards, virtually hiding the stamens. The large flowers nod on slender stems against a background of grey-green foliage. The rich, fruity fragrance carries hints of blackcurrants.
This rose was named in commemoration of Queen Elizabeth II's Diamond Jubilee, celebrating her 60 years on the throne.
Royal Jubilee' will grow into a healthy, vigorous and fairly tall shrub, which makes it ideal for covering larger areas. It has very few thorns on its stems. It will sit nicely in a mixed border with other shrubs and perennials.
Roses thrive on sunshine, ideally a minimum of four hours each day to perform their best. However, roses can still perform well in shadier locations, with selected varieties suitable for growing against a north wall.
Roses can be planted year round, but avoid doing so when the ground is frozen, waterlogged or in periods of drought. Dusting the roots with Mycorrhizal Fungi when planting will aid establishment. Allow your rose plenty of space to develop to its best, sited away from intense competition of trees & hedges.
Apply a thick layer of mulch around the base of the plant in early spring to help retain moisture and help keep competing weeds at bay. Gently fork rose fertiliser into the soil surface and continue to water well throughout the growing season. Dead-head flowers to encourage fresh new blooms to follow.
