Eremurus

Commonly known as a Foxtail Lily, Eremurus Cleopatra is a stunningly beautiful plant which produces tall flower spikes covered in small, apricot coloured flowers, that will rise above other plants to add drama to your borders and beds. The clusters of flowers open sequentially from the bottom of the spike upwards to give a long-lasting display. The leaves at the base of the spike will die back in the flowering period, so plant your bulb amongst ground cover for enhanced impact. This plant loves the sun and will naturalise easily to give you attractive colour in the garden for some time to come. As the spikes are tall, it would be best planted in a sheltered spot to avoid wind damage.

Plant Care & Advice

Eremurus like well drained, well cultivated humus rich soil containing lots of compost in a sunny area protected from strong winds. A border plant, especially good against a background of evergreens or shrubs. Plant in groups. Can be left undisturbed for several years before they will need lifting, dividing and replanting into soil that has additional compost. Eremurus make excellent long lasting cut flowers and are a wonderful statement in a border.
