Muscari armeniacum is probably the variety that everyone pictures when thinking of the Grape Hyacinth. It is an easy to grow, low maintenance bulb that need little encouragement to naturalise. The dainty, grape-like flowers will attract bees and other pollinators to your garden and the bulbs carry the RHS's 'Plant for Pollinators' mark. This variety of Muscari bulbs will produce classic deep blue flowers. These bulbs can be planted in the autumn to spread a blanket of blue around the garden in March and April. They can be grown in large groups, in lawns or at the front of flower borders, for a spectacular display, but are also ideal for growing in containers if you want to restrict their spread. Muscari armeniacum holds the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit.

Ideal for garden fragrance.

Plant Care & Advice

Muscari are tolerant of any well drained soil in full sun or partial shade. Ideal for naturalising (leaving in for flowers year after year) in borders, rockeries, woodland and between shrubs and paving stones. Good for mass planting. Also suitable for containers. Muscari are naturally clump forming and every 3 or 4 years will require lifting after the foliage has died down, dividing and replanting. Muscari flower for a long time so are excellent when planted with other bulbs. Especially good when grown amongst daffodils.
