Raspberry Tulameen 5's
Bred in Canada, Tulameen is now one of the most popular summer fruiting varieties due to its versatility and the quality of its fruit. A truly outstanding variety with extremely high yields of superb quality glossy fruits that have an excellent, sweet aromatic flavour. The berries are large, bright red and have a distinctive conical shape. The fruit is borne on long, almost spine-free laterals, making them very easy to pick. An excellent variety for growing in pots/containers where the long canes can be trained up an obelisk or bamboo cane wigwam. Resistant to botrytis.

Plant Care & Advice

Raspberries grow best in free draining soils, if drainage is poor, grow on a raised bed. It is essential that they are planted in ground that has never grown raspberries or any plant of the genus Rubus before. Pruning is not required at planting time but in subsequent years, remove the canes which have fruited and train in the new canes. Support the canes on posts and wires. Mulch yearly with well rotted compost or manure to retain moisture and suppress weeds. Water well in dry periods, and apply a growmore type fertiliser in the spring.
