A dense column of striking foliage makes this statuesque conifer stand out in any garden.
Taxus baccata 'Standishii' is a popular and award winning shrub that is very slow growing, making it a great choice for almost any garden where there is good drainage such as a rock or gravel garden. Its narrow column shape is perfect for adding height and winter structure to a mixed border, where it appears to stand sentry - straight and tall. Taxus 'Standishii' boasts bright golden yellow needle-like foliage that colours best when planted in a full sun. It forms its attractive upright shape naturally without any clipping. 'Standishii' is a female variety so will produce bright red fleshy fruit in autumn (if not clipped) and as it does not produce pollen it would be suitable for low allergy or low pollen planting schemes. One of the best of its colour and habit.
A very sought after and popular shrub which provides a valuable vertical accent to the garden.

Taxus 'Standishii' colours best in full sun but will still grow well in partial shade and also full shade adding to its versatility. This tolerance of sun and shade makes it suitable for any aspect and it is happy in both exposed and sheltered sites.
Also tolerant of all soil types but grows easily when planted in a moist but well drained soil that doesn't sit wet for to long. A very useful low maintenance and architectural shrub/tree it needs very little watering or feeding other than in the first year to help with establishment.
Taxus 'Standishii' needs very little pruning but it can be clipped to shape and it will also regenerate when hard pruned and so can be easily renovated if needed.
