These Red Riding Hood Tulips would never get lost in a fairy-tale forest as the striking scarlet flowers would certainly make them stand out, letting you know that spring has arrived. The rich green foliage is clearly marked with reddish-purple stripes, becoming the perfect backdrop for the bright red blooms. Part of the Greigii group of bulbs, these beautiful dwarf tulips would look amazing in a patio container or at the front of a border and will happily grow in full sun, in a fertile, well-drained soil. Tulips will grow in a wide range of soils provided there is good drainage. They like sunshine but the flowers will last longer in partial shade. Ideal for beds and borders. Remove flower heads as they begin to fade. Avoid planting repeatedly in exactly the same location. Best lifted when the leaves fade. Clean and store until autumn when they can be replanted. Do not keep the small off-shoots as they will not flower.
